In order to better guide teachers and students to accumulate academic research experience, the school of management invited Professor John Wilson, to give a workshop entitled Learning and Teaching in Higher Education – a UK Perspective at Admin Building 812 on June 27th 2023. The workshop was hosted by Prof. Xinliang Ye, who is the associate dean of the school of management. There were more than 60 teachers and students participated in the offline + online workshop.
Professor John Wilson first introduced the situation of higher education in the UK. Professor John then interacted with teachers and students by publishing a survey based on 18 questions related to higher education in the UK. The survey mainly focuses on the history, quantity, QS ranking, education and teaching evaluation system and standards of British colleges and universities. Through interactive questions and answers, the teachers and students have a clearer view on the status of higher education in the UK. At the end of the workshop, the audiance had a full discussion with Professor John Wilson on the issue of British higher education and the difference of higher education between China and Britain. Finally, Professor John sent a book as a present to the student with the highest score in the survey.
